LG launched a new series of OLED TVs, and the sales volume is expected to increase by 30% in 2022

LG Electronics launched a new series of OLED TVs in Taiwan, including its objet series, with the goal of increasing OLED TV sales by 30% in 2022 over the same period last year.

New products include its 4K G2 and C2 OLED series, objet collection series and qned miniled backlit TVs. LG Taiwan recently said at a product event in Taipei that the G2 series products have 83 inch, 65 inch and 55 inch sizes, and the company plans to launch 97 inch models in the fourth quarter of 2022.

C2 series OLED TVs are available in 83 inch, 65 inch, 55 inch, 48 Inch, and 42 inch sizes at prices ranging from NT $59900 to NT $394900 (US $2037 to US $13427).

The company focused on a 65 inch OLED objet TV powered by its fifth generation A9 processor and paired with thinq AI applications. According to the company, objet series models are designed for creative and commercial activities.

At the same time, LG also launched a new qned miniled backlight series, using LG’s quantum dots and nano battery technology.

Although most market observers are conservative about TV demand in the second half of the year, LG believes that entry-level and mid-range models will be the most affected, and the sales of high-end models will continue to grow.

However, sources from LG Taiwan pointed out that despite the recent decline in panel prices, the prices and logistics costs of related TV chips are still high.

Although the tight supply of some TV chips has eased, sources continue to say that the TV industry is still facing the challenge of ensuring an adequate supply of TV processors, resulting in increased cost pressure on TV manufacturers.
